Team Burns/Bergeron Wins 2007 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

QUEBEC CITY - After winning the skills competition yesterday, Team Burns/Bergeron (Red) made it two for two as they defeated Team Bowman/Demers (White) 5-3 in front of just under ten thousands fans at the Colisée Pepsi in the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

Oscar Moller opened the scoring for Team White early on in the first period, but Ruslan Bashkirov and Logan MacMillan enabled Team Red to take a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission.

In the second period, Bashkirov scored his second goal of the game at 4:24 while Jakub Voracek added another marker shortly thereafter to put Team Red up by two. In the third period, Keven Veilleux reduced the lead to one. Nevertheless, Team Burns/Bergeron held on and scored an empty-net goal to seal the win.

Bashkirov of the Quebec Remparts was named the player of the game for Team Red and Oscar Moller of Chilliwack earned the player of the game award for Team White. The awards were chosen by NHL Central Scouting.

Équipe Burns/Bergeron : deux en deux

QUÉBEC - Après avoir remporté le concours d'habiletés hier au Colisée Pepsi, Équipe Burns/Bergeron (Rouge) a balayé les honneurs du séjour des Meilleurs Espoirs Home Hardware à Québec en remportant une victoire de 5-3 face à l'Équipe Bowman/Demers (Blanc). Oscar Moller a ouvert le pointage tôt en première période pour permettre à Équipe Blanc de prendre les devants. Par contre, le favori local, Ruslan Bashkirov des Remparts, a marqué quelques instants plus tard et Logan MacMillan a permis à Équipe Rouge de prendre une avance de 2-1 après vingt minutes de jeu. En deuxième période, Bashkirov a marqué son deuxième but du match suivi d'un filet de Jakub Voracek pour permettre à Équipe Rouge de mettre la partie hors de portée. Keven Veilleux et Maxime Gratchev ont réduit l'écart, mais trop peu trop tard pour la formation dirigée par Scotty Bowman, Jacques Demers et Patrick Roy. Au terme de la rencontre, Ruslan Bashkirov a été choisi le joueur du match du côté d'Équipe Rouge tandis que Oscar Moller de Chilliwack a mérité l'honneur du côté d'Équipe Blanc. Ceux-ci ont été choisis par la centrale de recrutement de la LNH.
