Ottawa -- The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Ottawa Senators, forward Jason Spezza will be an assistant coach with Team Orr in the 2006 Home Hardware CHL-NHL Top Prospects Game at Scotiabank Place on Wednesday.
After playing the 1998-99 season as an underage with the Brampton Battalion, Spezza was the first overall pick in the 1999 OHL Priority Selection by the Mississauga IceDogs. He also played for the Windsor Spitfires and Belleville Bulls during his four-year OHL career.
Spezza was the captain of Team Cherry in the 2001 Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects Game, which was held at the Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.
Spezza has 13 goals and 48 points in 31 games with the Ottawa Senators this season.
The Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game will showcase 40 of the CHL’s top players that are eligible for selection in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft during a three day event at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario. The
